Denver Demolished
The Seattle Seahawks absolutely dominated the Denver Broncos in the most important game of the year. Hell dominated isn't even the right word to use. One should use manhandle or even dismantled. It was an absolute joy to watch if you were a Seahawks fan or a Browns fan.
The Seattle Defense in my mind cemented themselves into the top defenses in NFL history. They gave a new meaning to FAST, where if you think about it it really quite an accomplishment. High praises go out to Pete Carroll (Head coach of the Seahawks) & John Schiender (GM of the Seahawks). Those two men assembled a bully that just beat up on statistically one of the greatest offense's ever. They really did think out of the box. The Seahawks were built to not just WIN & not compete with opponents, they were built to frustrate, perplex, and mentally beat you down. They trash talk because the Seahawks know they are going to beat you. I for one have watched really closely these playoffs to determine if the Super Bowl winner would really deserve it. Needless to say, Seattle OWNED the rest of the league (with exception to San Fran) Anyway, this Seattle team did something so very impressive. So lets put everything in simple terms, and make it easy for people to understand.
Going into the Super Bowl, the Seahawks had the #1 rated defense playing Denver's #1 ranked offense. Something obviously had to give. Seattle was (and should be for quite some time) SOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING GOOD on defense they literally told the offense basically what they were running and said "I really don't care if you know what defense were running, were still going to beat you....so bring it" Ladies and Gentlemen, that is exactly what they did. I mean hell it honestly looked as if Seattle was playing with 12 guys and Denver was playing with 10? Thats how fast they were. Amazing and well deserved, congrats to the Seahawks and the 12th man
More tidbits
- Russell Wilson did descent in his first Super Bowl, but lets be honest, he never had any pressure on him all day to make plays. His defense made it pretty easy for him to cruise to a Super Bowl win in just his 2nd season. My point is even when looking back when the Ravens won now 2 years ago, Joe Flacco is no Tom Brady or Peyton Manning and neither is Russell Wilson. He's a tremendous player and extremely hard worker (especially after he was drafted in the 3rd round and constantly told he was too small) but you don't need to be a QB Ultimate Legend to win a Super Bowl, just ask Trent Dilfer.
- Don't feel bad for Denver. They were handed Peyton Manning after he was cut by the Indianapolis Colts. Remember Tebow Mania? Peyton Manning was John Elway's (the owner of the Broncos) golden opportunity to completely wash his hands of having to deal with all the hype and attention Tim Tebow brought to his organization. Elway weaseled his way out of having to deal with Tebow who had done nothing but put Denver back on the map. Again they were handed Peyton Manning for absolutely nothing. Don't you dare feel bad for them. They got beat and were the lesser team, plain and simple.
- I understand I have said in the past that this NFL is changing into a passing league and running the football is becoming less taboo however........The Seattle Seahawks just wanted to remind everyone that running the football and fast hard hitting defense will win every time! Its hard for an opposing team to compete when they can't even put points up!
- Remember when the Browns #1 choice for head coach was the offensive coordinator for Denver Adam Gase? HA is all I will say
- Dan Quinn (Defensive Coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks) was asked by Cleveland.com if he was honestly interested in the Cleveland Browns coaching vacancy after the game ( Quinn was also another top target of the Browns before they went on to hire Mike Pettine) Can you imagine if the Browns did not have a head coach right now? Anyway these were Quinn's words about the Cleveland job, ""I certainly would've been interested,'' Quinn told cleveland.com. "I mean, it's a big-time place. It's the Cleveland Browns.''
^ Ill just let that sink in.......at least somebody recognizes this town as a Powder Keg
Browns?
So where does this leave us?
Today marks the beginning of probably the 3 slowest months of the year. First because Cleveland is awaiting the start of the Tribe :) and 2, once again which happens to be to familiar to Browns fans is the draft. Now Cleveland fans will have to wait again to see what players they draft to only get our hopes up as fans. Its a very dark time and major struggle because from now till May, we will hear nothing but speculation of what each NFL team wants to do. Lets hope between now and then the Browns watch the Super Bowl tape over and over to look at the type of players they need. They might have to look no further than calling up a coach in College Station Texas and picking his brain about a certain QB.
(Former Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel)
I will have a draft special coming soon!!
Go Browns
